Student-at-Law

Justin is a Student-at-Law at Osuji & Smith Lawyers. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics with distinction from the University of Calgary, and earned his Juris Doctor at the University of Alberta.

Being born in South Korea and then having spent the last decade in Canada, Justin was fascinated by the degree of diversification in ethnicities and cultures of Canadian society. Justin believes that our society should not only focus on economic survival and materialism, but also on altruism and socialism – a belief that is vividly reflected throughout his experiences in Canada. He has joined the student leadership program at school where he organized several fundraising events for the less-fortunate. He has also volunteered at his church as a choir singer, and with the Pro Bono Students Canada as Civil Claim Duty Counsel at Edmonton’s courthouse where he facilitated access to free legal advice.

Justin previously interned at an international law firm in Korea and participated in international commercial transactions and cross-border dispute resolution. While working at the firm, Justin interacted with clients and lawyers from around the world, and proved his interpersonal and intercultural skills.

Outside work, Justin enjoys playing golf and squash. He also enjoys reading economic journals and philosophical books.
